Lumination’s New LeadMe Labs Software is Automating Smart Classrooms

By automating virtual reality technology in immersive classrooms, educators can use emerging technologies with ease to improve learning outcomes.

ADELAIDE, SA | 28 July 2022 — Lumination, a leading immersive technology company based in Adelaide, Australia, has added a new, intuitive software to its growing suite of offerings. Empowering educators to easily operate virtual reality (VR) technology while facilitating a lesson, LeadMe Labs automates the learning experience. Incorporated into our Lumination Learning Labs, the software puts the user in control.

”LeadMe Labs is the game changing tool smart classrooms have been waiting for,” says Darragh Kearns, Lead Software Engineer at Lumination. “Our goal is to make facilitators feel confident using the technology and easily able to integrate it into their lesson plans. LeadMe Labs does this with the touch of a button.”

Founded with the goal of disrupting one of the oldest practices in history — the conventional classroom, Lumination’s products are revolutionising the way we teach, learn and work. Working with over 2.6K schools nationally and expanding into the defence, government, and enterprise sectors, the company’s rapid growth stems from its base in education.

Lumination Learning Labs, are state of the art immersive classrooms that use extended reality (XR) to create collaborative environments, which are proven to improve learning outcomes. The Labs offer the most effective way to learn, through experiences. They can be installed across educational and industry settings to enable users to learn faster, retain more and build confidence, igniting interest in learning.

With LeadMe Labs software, educators can focus more on using the technology to enable learner success, and less on mastering its nuances. Providing the facilitator a fully automated and interactive experience, they can incorporate immersive technologies into their lessons with ease. From one tablet, users can launch programs, control room automations and monitor user activity, creating more time for learning.

This is the first iteration of LeadMe Labs, with upgrades over the next six months. Improvements will allow educators to have enhanced functionality over student laptops, with the ability to push out content to student devices and deliver web content and lesson plans all through LeadMe. With content partnerships soon to come, users will have support on the tech side while having access to ready-made lesson plans and supporting content.

“Automated technology takes the pressure off educators and facilitators so they can spend less time tech-ing and more time teaching,” said Edward Carlson, CEO of Lumination. “That’s why we’re making the technology seamless and easily integrating it with the curriculum to improve learning outcomes.”
