Edward Carlson
Chief Executive Officer
Ed leads the team at Lumination and specialises in building innovative technology companies. Ed’s passion is EdTech and how innovations in the classroom and workplace prepare people for the changing landscape of technological transformation. Prior to Lumination he worked at Google, TRO and various startups – building teams, products and leading growth in the ANZ region. He started his first company at 9 years old selling modified computers online and spent every cent of the profits on Pokemon cards and Blockbuster videos.
Tom Hastwell
Chief Commercial Officer
Tom works with Government Departments, large corporations and the Defence industry, developing immersive software and hardware solutions. Tom’s strengths lie in connecting with people and inspiring industry innovation. He has built a strong reputation from his previous senior leadership roles in the Education, Media and Healthcare sectors.
Long involved in charitable and professional causes, Tom has served on the Board of Suneden since 2014, a school for children with intellectual and multiple physical disabilities. He has also previously served as President of the Prospect District Cricket Club and held advisory roles for SACA.
Dr. Marissa Bond
Chief Technology Officer
Marissa wears many hats, being an experienced software developer, STEM communicator, and qualified teacher. Marissa taught, tutored and studied in academia for 15 years, working in STEM outreach for Flinders University’s future-focused design, engineering and computing capabilities within the Tonsley Innovation District. During this time, she also completed her PhD where she developed and evaluated software using virtual people to help children with autism improve their social skills.
Marissa kicked off her software development career with a local Adelaide start-up, and now enjoys leading the Lumination development team in revolutionising technology.
Stacey Satchell
Chief of Staff
Stacey is passionate about building relationships and working collaboratively. She works with the CEO and leadership team to develop strategies and systems that support high performing teams and organisational efficiency. With a background in education and training she is well versed in the opportunities and challenges at site and system levels.
Stacey believes that true innovation, business improvement and excellence comes from an organisational culture where employees, partners and customers are engaged, connected and proud to contribute to shared values and joint missions.
Rebecca Bendikov
Head of Education Programs
Rebecca’s job is centred around creating innovative student-facing programs. Her goal is to inspire and educate teachers on how to incorporate emerging technologies into the classroom, and in turn, contribute to the development of students’ abilities in an evolving technological landscape. Rebecca is particularly passionate about introducing young Australian women and girls to careers in STEM.
Rebecca has a diverse background in business and marketing, having developed and worked in two start-ups in the hospitality sector, playing a pivotal role in an Adelaide FinTech company going global as well as having an early career in the Not-for-Profit and Arts sectors.
James Forrest
Head of Operations
James heads up our Operations Team, responsible for the efficient deployment of Lumination Learning Labs and seamless delivery of our other technology products and services. An important part of James’ role is ensuring that Lumination’s delivery processes are continuously evolving and improving to provide the best possible experience for our customers.
With a diverse career spanning management consultancy, engineering, academia and defence industry, he has previously held senior leadership roles in high-technology growth businesses. James is a problem solver at heart, drawing on a broad range of experiences gained through his career, including business administration, process development, people leadership and delivery of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
James believes strongly in the power of a shared common vision, empowerment, and finding the sweet spot where individuals’ desires are matched with organisational needs.
Ebony Cundy-Profke
People and Culture Lead
Ebony is the glue that holds the Lumination team together. As the People and Culture Lead, she works to bring the best out of the organisation by bringing the best out of its teams.
Ebony is a multiplier of connections across internal and external stakeholders. Her expertise is in supporting staff to ensure that the company’s goals, passions and initiatives are delivered.
With a Bachelor of Behavioral Science and a Graduate Diploma of Anthropology, she works as a cultural leader in the organisation to ensure that Lumination develops alongside its staff. Ebony was previously a music teacher and has been playing the viola for 19 years.
