Holroyd High School opens the state’s first Lumination Learning Lab, with a number of schools following suit.
Sydney, NSW | 18 October, 2023 — In partnership with Holroyd High School, Lumination is thrilled to announce the opening of the first cutting-edge Lumination Learning Lab in New South Wales. With many students at Holroyd of refugee background, the adoption of this innovative space is a major win for equitable education.
Known as the school of hope for refugee students, most students who start at this Western Sydney school speak little to no english. Now home to both an Intensive English Centre (IEC) and a robust smart classroom, accessibility is on the rise.
“Together with leaders in education, our goal is to empower all students with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-evolving world,” says Edward Carlson, CEO at Lumination. “We are proud to open the first smart classroom in New South Wales at Holroyd High School.”
The school now boasts a five-station immersive Lab, including virtual and augmented reality technology, projector screens to encourage collaboration, bespoke LeadMe software for ease of use, LED rings to ensure student safety and a variety of other features. Committed to inclusivity, the Labs are designed to cater to diverse learning needs, ensuring that every student can benefit from this innovation.

With immersive learning content, lesson plans and resources linked to the curriculum now available to staff and students, interactive learning is now a reality.
